Two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporators from Ujjain posted their photograph on a social networking website with ink mark on their forefinger creating ripples in the political corridor.
The Congress alleged that the BJP leaders may have been involved in bogus voting practice during mayoral election in Indore on Saturday.
Mayoral election was held in Indore on Saturday and a large number of BJP corporators and leaders from Ujjain came to the city to take part in party campaign.
The two corporators, Jagdish Panchal and Satish Bhawsar, posted their photographs on a social networking website showing ink mark on their forefinger.
Condemning the BJP corporators' act, Maya Trivedi, state women Congress former spokesperson and Congress corporator in Ujjain said the party will collect all the facts in the matter and will report to the state election commission.
Rubbishing the charges levelled against him, BJP corporator Panchal said having black ink mark on forefinger does not mean I am involved in bogus voting practice. "We are in Indore to encourage people to vote and nothing else," Panchal added.
