Neemuch hit-and-run case

In another twist in the Neemuch hit-and-run case, the three injured children of the poor couple who died after being run over by went missing from the district hospital on June 12.

The three children, Pooja, 10, Tufan, 8, and Ranu, 6, were grievously injured in the accident and were operated on by doctors at the district hospital.

Babulal Gudaliya, 40, and his wife Shantibai had lost their lives on the spot after an inebriated Ajmera, 30, ran them over with his Wagon-R car (RJ-27CD-4781) on May 17.

The incident took place under Badhana police station limit.

Ranjan Swami, who was taking care of the children, said all three had gone missing from the district hospital under mysterious circumstances.

"After they went missing, I submitted an application to Kotwali police as well as to the president of child welfare committee and women empowerment department, Neemuch, seeking help to trace all three kids," Swami said.

Before the mishap, the children's father had handed over their responsibility to Swami unable to take care of them himself.

Swami said he has requested the Kotwali police to quickly find the children fearing their life may be in danger or they may have been kidnapped. "No response or action has been taken from police yet to find the children," he said.

Regarding the delay in Ajmera's arrest almost a month after the accident, Swami said, "If police do not arrest him immediately, I will sit on agitation at the district collectorate."

When contacted, Kotwali police station in-charge Hitesh Patil said the police had received an application from Swami and the matter will be investigated.
