Normality returned to Barwani district after communal clashes left nine people including three policemen injured on Monday night.
No untoward incident was reported on Wednesday. However, on Tuesday night, police went into tizzy after fire broke out in three shops, including two auto dealers, near Mahendra talkies square. More than a dozen old motorcycles and other goods were gutted in the fire.
DIG Nimar range DK Arya said apparently the fire broke out because of a short circuit. He said three accused have been arrested so far and hunt to catch other accused is on.
Tazia immersion was carried out under heavy police security on Wednesday. DIG Arya said Tazia immersion took place till Wednesday afternoon under heavy security. "No fresh incident was reported in the city and normalcy was fast returning," he said.
SP Barwani Tilak Singh said the place for keeping decorated Tazia was changed with mutual understanding of both communities. A peace committee meeting was also held on Tuesday, he added.
