Suspicion for the grisly murder of an elderly couple, who were bludgeoned to death in Piplai Kankar under Sanver Police station in Indore on Monday, is falling squarely on people close the victims’ family.
Senior police officials are of the view that the reason behind the murder is a land dispute.
The couple had sold a piece of land worth Rs 1.5 crore a few months back. “We are close to cracking the case. The reason behind the murder is land dispute. Some people very close to the couple are under police scanner and investigation is on,” said town inspector Sanver Ramgopal Dixit, while speaking to HT.
The body of the couple was recovered from their house on Tuesday night. A case was promptly registered and the number of were rounded up questioning.
The victims’ were identified as 75-year-old Asin Masa and his wife Sehrazabi, 65. The couple lived alone in the house in Piplai Kankar and their sons are based in Dewas city.
