Prakash Jha to shoot four films in MP, says he doesn’t want to leave the state
Film director and producer Prakash Jha, who has been given 22 acres of land near Kerwa dam in Bhopal, said he was developing the area and soon Bhopal would become a centre for television and film technicians.
"People say thanks to my films for Madhya Pradesh gaining visibility but I say I am happy that I got MP and now I do not want to leave it ever," said noted film director and producer Prakash Jha.
Jha was speaking at a presentation of Madhya Pradesh tourism department at Global Investors' Summit in Indore on Friday.
Jha, who has shot five films including Satyagraha in Madhya Pradesh, praised the people of the state for being helpful. "The people are the best in the country, they never come in the way of the shooting and thanks to that, I have always been able to maintain my shooting schedule," he said.
He said in the next few months, he would be shooting four films in Bhopal and other parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Jha, who has been given 22 acres of land near Kerwa dam, said he was developing the area and soon Bhopal would become a centre for television and film technicians. "Even now, around one third of the technical crew in my films is from Bhopal and I do not have to bring them from Mumbai."
Praising the quality and maintenance of tourism properties by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, Jha said whenever he wants peace and quiet to read or write something, he comes to Madhya Pradesh. "I spent over a month in Panchmarhi this monsoon as I had to write something," he said.
