A social worker, an entrepreneur and a loving wife -- Indore's Shruti Oza Khemlani is all these and much more now.
She was crowned with the Mrs India International-2015 runners-up title on Saturday during a star-lit programme in Atlanta, United States of America (USA).
A perfect blend of beauty and talent, Shruti was handed over the prestigious title in a well contested finale.
Director of an English training institute in the city, Shruti has been working vigorously for animal rights for several years.
Speaking to HT City over phone from USA, after the pageant, Shruti revealed her excitement on winning the title.
"This is a big achievement for me! It was really a tough competition. I feel really proud to have come this far in this contest and elated at winning the runners-up title."
Doe-eyed Shruti had to score over the contestants of India and Indian-origin in four events -- the aerobics wear, business wear, ethnic wear and evening gown - to clinch the title.
"All the participants were also quizzed on the tasks they will take up related to the various causes they are supporting," she says.
Sandeep Khemlani, husband of the beauty queen, says, "It is a proud moment not only for us, but the whole of Indore. I am sure this title will give her a platform to flourish in her career."
Sandeep had travelled all the way to Atlanta to be by his better-half during the finale.
"Shruti also won the best ramp walk title at the event," he adds cheerfully.
The Mrs India International-2015 is held every year to recognise the talent of married women who have been leading by example.
