If you are a smart phone user then seeking help in case of an emergency in Simhastha Kumbh would just be a tap away.
The Simhastha fair administration in its mobile app has provided a ‘panic’ button.
As soon as anybody presses it, a message would reach the helpline being set up to assist the pilgrims and a call would get dialed to police for help.
The helpline people and the cops would swing into action by tracing your location through the GPS input.
Not only this, the fair administration has provided many other utilities through the app which is available in Hindi and English.
Deputy fair officer SS Rawat said if someone finds at any toilet dirty or other places unclean or finds health staff absent from the designated place or say leakage in water line, a request could be raised through the option made available on the app.
The same could be used by saints or their organisers in different camps.
The request would be automatically forwarded to the concerned sector incharge of that department.
The matter would be monitored by the central control room and the persons responsible will have to close the request by submitting a statement that the complaint has been redressed and would also have to provide information of the time when the work has been done.
Rawat said the benefit of involving information technology in managing the fair would be fruitful if more and more people use it.
Free wi fi facilities are being provided at different points in fair area so that pilgrims use the internet-based app.
The fair administration has also initiated quiz competition to popularise the app as questions relating to Simhastha are asked.
People could also upload a photo of themselves with a Simhastha work background and selected snaps would be published on the app.
Information like location of ATMs, parking lots, eateries, temples, hospitals, ghats, police stations near you could also be made available through the app.
