A six-year-old girl was abducted and raped in Bijalpur under the jurisdiction of Rajendra Nagar police station on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. This is the second incident in the last one week when a child has been sexually assaulted.
The police have detained half-a-dozen suspects and investigation is on.
According to information, the incident occurred around 1am when the girl was sleeping with her parents and a sibling.
According to CSP Annapurna, AH Ghuriaya, the girl was abducted and raped at some other place and then dumped where her parents were sleeping.
"When I woke up, I found my daughter bleeding and crying," said the victim's father.
Later, he called the police and informed them about the incident. The police rushed the girl to MY Hospital where her condition is said to be stable.
"Her parents are from Rajasthan and work at an under-construction building in Bijalpur. They were sleeping near the building when the incident occurred," said the CSP.
The CSP further said that a case has been registered and police have detained some suspects. "We are quizzing them," the CSP added.
A similar incident occurred a week ago when a two-year-old girl was raped and left bleeding near an ATM in Kela Devi Mandir area.
