Two including Congress leader die of swine flu in Indore

Two persons including a Congress leader from Namli village in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh died of H1N1 influenza on Sunday.

A 43-year-old party leader, who was hospitalised in Ratlam a couple of weeks ago, was referred to a private hospital in Indore after he tested positive for viral infection. The deceased was the spokesman of Ratlam district Congress committee since January 1, 2015.

Another 38-year-old person from Indore, who was admitted at a private hospital in Indore three days ago, died of swine flu while undergoing treatment.

The death toll due to H1N1 influenza in Indore and around surged to 59. So far, the number of suspected deaths due to swine flu in the city and around are 76.

During the last two months, 258 patients have tested positive out of total 576 samples which were sent to a Jabalpur-based laboratory. Health department has received reports of 422 samples so far, while test reports of remaining 164 samples are still awaited.
