Dense fog and low visibility took a toll on air and rail transport in Indore over the weekend. Indore-bound flights and trains were delayed because of thick fog cover in the city.
Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport authorities had to cancel a flight and reschedule the departure of some flights because of unfavorable weather.
Airport director Manoj Chansoria said, "A couple of flights taking off from New Delhi were delayed due to poor visibility. They were rescheduled."
Delhi-bound Jet Airways flight which was scheduled to take off from Indore on Saturday evening was cancelled and rescheduled for Sunday morning.
All departures and arrivals at Indore airport were reportedly delayed by more than two hours on Sunday.
Also, almost all Indore-bound passenger and express trains reached the city late.
Visibility at some places was reported to be less than 20 metres on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
Dehradun-Indore Express reached here eight hours behind its scheduled time of arrival. Gwalior-Indore Express was late by three hours and Jammu Tawi-Indore Malwa Express was delayed by four hours.
Indore-bound Nizamuddin Express was running late by two hours. Kota Intercity reached an hour late. Awantika Express, Pune Express, Mumbai Duronto, Pench Valley passenger were delayed by at least one hour each.
