Virat Kohli recently apologized to his fans for the poor performances by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
The Kohli-captained Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), only managed three wins in 14 matches of the ongoing IPL season, finishing bottom of the group standings and failing to make the cut for the play-off stage.
While the supporters were disappointed, Kohli’s fan-following hasn’t reduced; if anything it has increased.
The Indian cricket team captain gifted a fan his top run-getter of the game award after RCB’s last group match against Delhi Daredevils (DD) and recently gave Chris Gayle his favourite bat to auction for charity.
And his growing fan base has a new addition, who Kohli himself has termed to be “cuteness overload”.
Mumbai Indians’ fielding coach Jonty Rhodes uploaded an image on Twitter Wednesday which showed his daughter India hugging a photo of Kohli.
Rhodes wrote that Kohli has a new fan in the form of his daughter and implied that her support for the India national team captain was a good choice.
“It would seem that @imVkohli has another fan- not that we blame India Rhodes @pumacricket @mipaltan (sic),” Rhodes captioned the image.
Kohli seemed pleased to have her support as he replied to the post.
“@JontyRhodes8 #IndiaRhodes Cuteness overload! Wonder what she’s carrying in that little bag? 🤔 @pumacricket (sic),” Kohli wrote.
While Kohli’s participation in the current IPL season has ended, Rhodes is still a part of it with his Mumbai Indians team set to play Kolkata Knight Riders in the Qualifier 2 match on Friday.
The winner of the Qualifier 2 will play against Rising Pune Supergiant in the final of IPL 2017 on Sunday.
