At least 15 people were today injured when two communities clashed and opened fire over an old rivalry during the ongoing panchayat election process at Kot village in Dausa district, a senior police official said.

Seven injured Mev community members were referred to Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Hospital and the rest belonging to Meena community reported to Mandawar police station, Superintendent of Police (Dausa) Devendra Singh told PTI over telephone.

The process of filing nomination for the ongoing sarpanch and panch elections in the village was not affected due to the clash, he said.
