An old adage says ‘woman’s fetish for jewellery never fades’ but this might not be true in the case of Congress candidate from Jodhpur Chandresh Kumari.
She preferred purchasing weapons more than jewellery or other valuables during her tenure as MP from Jodhpur parliamentary constituency. During past 5 years, Chandresh Kumari bought two pistols and a rifle on her own name and two shotguns and a rifle were bought in the name of her spouse, according to the affidavit filed by her during the nomination filing.
Chandresh spent ` 3 lakh each for the pair of pistols, while her husband Aditya Dev Singh spent the same amount for purchasing shotguns, while ` 2 lakh was spent on the purchase of rifles.
She has shown 811.1 gram gold worth ` 24.33 lakh and 30 kg silver jewellery valued at `13.50 lakh while her husband has purchased 1,350 gram gold and diamond jewellery worth ` 41 lakh and 20 kg silver jewellery valued around `9 lakh.
Chandresh Kumari has shown her total assets worth `30.78 crore this year, while during the filing of affidavit during the last election in her total assets were `13.20 crore.
She does not own any vehicle according to her declaration. During last election she has shown a Maruti Wagon-R car on her name.
