Raising demands to implement the Jan Lokpal Bill, activists under the banner of ‘Anna Samarthak Gandhiwadi Sangh’ called for a nationwide stir on January 30.
Anna supporters condemned the NDA government for not implementing the bill two years after it has been passed in parliament. “Narendra Modi is about to complete two years of his tenure. Yet, there is no talk about implementing Jan Lokpal Bill. Why is government not willing to crack down on corrupt officials using this independent watchdog?” questioned Vishnu Kant Sharma, national team member, Anna Samarthak Gandhiwadi Sangh.
Sharma said the flaws can be rectified in future as well, but it is necessary to implement the bill in the first place.
“Anna Hazare and thousands of supporters will assemble at Jantar Mantar and will march to the PM’s residence demanding the bill to be implemented. We will simultaneously organise campaigns in all districts of the country on January 30,” said Sunil Fauzi, an activist.
