In the second such incident in Rajasthan in less than a month, a Swiss tourist was allegedly raped in the holy town of Pushkar by the owner of a hotel.
The 37-year-old tourist has alleged she was raped by Nanu Rawat, owner of Nanu Garden Restaurant, in Pushkar in Ajmer district, over 145 km from Jaipur, a week ago.
In her first information report (FIR) filed with the Pushkar police station on Saturday, she alleged that Rawat raped her in one of the rooms of his hotel in front of her friend.
The tourist, a singer by profession, has got dual citizenship of France and Switzerland and had come to Pushkar about a month ago.
The police have arrested the hotel owner.
"We arrested the man on Saturday after a complaint was filed by the Swiss tourist. Further investigations are on," a police official told IANS on Sunday.
Earlier this month, a US tourist had alleged that she was molested by a priest at a temple in Pushkar.
The tourist, hailing from Oregon in the US, had come for pilgrimage to the city.
On Dec 23 last year, a British journalist had alleged that she was raped by the owner of a guest house in Udaipur.
