One more coaching student committed suicide in Kota. This is the second case reported in the last four days.
A hub of medical and engineering coaching centres, Kota witnessed at least 19 suicides this year.
Sumer Ram, 19, a native of Merta tehsil in Nagaur district, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his rented accommodation at Kamla Udhyan colony in Kota on Thursday night, circle inspector of Kunhadi police station RK Meena said.
Ram was taking tuition for All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) from a coaching institute since April.
According to police, the student had used cable TV wire to hang himself. Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind the suicide. They have recovered two suicide notes, one each from Ram’s and his neighbours’ rooms.
In the note found from the room of Ram’s neighbour, the student has said that he would commit suicide when there would be no one next door. In the second note Ram has apologised to his parents for committing suicide. “I always wanted to stay with you mummy, papa,” the note reads.
