With the opening of a helipad on the military hospital premises in Jodhpur soon, the armed forces will be able to air-lift injured soldiers directly to the hospital.
On Tuesday, the Indian Army successfully carried out the landing of a helicopter at the newly built helipad on the military hospital premises. “A Cheetah helicopter of the Aviation Corps of the Indian Army landed successfully as the newly constructed helipad on the MH premises today (on Tuesday),” said an army official.
He said it was the first trial of chopper landing at the helipad, which will become operational soon after getting clearance from the army headquarters. He said the 500-bed Jodhpur military hospital would be first in the western sector to have chopper-landing facility.
“Choppers like Cheetah, Chetak, ALH Rudra, owned by the Indian Army and MI-17 transport helicopter of the Indian Air Force can land on the newly constructed helipad,” said the official.
