A 14-day old baby boy born to a Pakistani couple in Rajasthan was denied entry into his parents’ country, as they had not mentioned details of his birth in visa documents.
It was learnt Mai Fatima and Mir Mohammed, residents of Sindh province in Pakistan, came to visit their relatives in Jaisalmer two months ago. Fatima was seven months pregnant on arrival. On April 14, she gave birth, prematurely, to a baby boy, Suhail.
On Friday, Pakistani authorities told the couple at Munabao town in Barmer, the boarding point for the train between the two countries, Suhail can’t travel to Pakistan because his photo is missing from his mother’s passport.
The authorities have told them to present the baby before the officials concerned at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi and get the requisite permission. The couple left for Delhi on Monday.
“I will request them to allow my kid to go home. Otherwise, I too will not return,” said Fatima.
