Amid acrimony and repeated adjournments, BJP whip Rajendra Singh Rathore was today suspended from the Rajasthan Assembly for one year for "unruly behaviour and stalling of proceedings."

The motion moved by ruling Congress chief whip Virendra Beniwal was passed by voice vote amid BJP members shouting anti-government slogans and standing on tables.

Hundreds of marshals were called in to protect the treasury members who moved the business in dim.

Despite all efforts and the Speaker's direction, the marshals failed to take out suspended MLA Rathore from the House.

The suspension was summoned by Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat.
