The Congress will avenge its defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, said State Congress president Sachin Pilot, adding the party’s morale was high despite its defeat in the assembly polls. Welcoming Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s decision to begin Lok Sabha poll campaign from Rajasthan, Pilot said: “Yes, we lost in the assembly polls. But we have not lost our morale and confidence .I assure Rahul ji that we will avenge our defeat in the Lok Sabha polls and that too with interest.” Promising a new leadership, Gandhi said that his party will field new and young faces in Lok Sabha, Assembly and panchayat elections in Rajasthan. “We will bring the government of young,” he said. Gandhi said that after defeat in Assembly polls in the state, the party made young leader Sachin Pilot PCC president and entrusted him with the task of

preparing a young leadership. “I asked him not to give space to the (BJP) government for any wrong doing in the state,” he said, while appealing the party workers to expose the BJP

government whenever they found any wrongdoing. Attacking state BJP government for making false promises, Pilot said: “The BJP government announced 60-day action plan but there was no result. BJP just

makes false promises and does politics of religion.” He accused said the BJP government of trying to stall flagship projects -- Barmer refinery and Jaipur Metro -- of Congress government. “But we went to people

and Rahulji, I am happy to tell you that we stopped them for doing so,” he added. Targeting the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, he alleged the BJP started out with offering tea to people but was now collecting money from

them in return. “In return for that five rupee tea, they are now collecting (hundreds of rupees) from every house in every village...just like their leader LK Advani had done with a promise to re-build the Ram temple in Ayodhya,” he alleged.
Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot said that BJP managed to come to power by “misleading” people in the Assembly polls last year by terming free medicine as poison and repeating lies hundred times.
Ashok Gehlot back in the front row
Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s absence from Congress meetings after the loss in the Assembly polls was interpreted in different ways by sections of Congress people -- while some said he was sidelined others believed he took the backseat himself. But in Deoli, Gehlot once again was seen sharing the front row with AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi. Gehlot’s fan following was worth noticing after the public meeting was over. While most of the Congress leaders were spotted with few workers around them, Gehlot was surrounded by hundreds of workers till he left for Jaipur in his vehicle.
Union minister tells govt to clear air on Meena, Mina row. Union minister and MP Tonk Sawai Madhopur Namonarayan Meena demanded the state government to clear their stand on the legal dispute on Meena and Mina surname of the tribal community. He said both were same and threatened to protest if the government did not issue the caste certificate.
