Various organisations in the state have taken measures to increase voters’ participation in the Lok Sabha elections.
CII - Young Indians (Yi) Jaipur Chapter began the campaign ‘Show the Ink, See prices sink” on Wednesday to encourage voters to research the candidates’ profile and take an informed decision on voting. Vaibhav Mittal, Chair, CII Yi Jaipur Chapter, said: “A campaign is being run nationally by CII - Young Indians and smart voters -- with an objective to incentivise the voters, who will be offered discounts across various brands. The voter will only have to show his/her inked finger to any of the brands/stores that are part of the campaign to avail discounts and deals.
Anand Singhal, Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council said popular brands like Lotus Dairy; Hotel Fern; Hotel Clarks Amer; Lightron Industries; Clay Craft India, and many others are a part of this programme. Details of the brands and their discounts are on the website www.showtheink.in. CII has also requested all its members to close their units after the polling dates on April 17 and 24.
Yet another company Genus, a project for manufacturing power infrastructure items in Jaipur, is motivating its employees to cast their vote by providing them financial incentive of different kinds. The director of Genus, Jitendra Agarwal says: “As a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we will grant a day’s pay as incentive to those employees who cast their vote.”
