Cornering state government, former chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday said BJP came to power by misguiding people with false promises. The government has proven to be a failure on all fronts in last one year, he added.
Hitting at chief minister Vasundhara Raje, he alleged that not meeting people is an old habit of Raje.
“The chief minister opted a new method to misguide people by visiting divisions in order to resolve grievances. Visits were made in areas of Bharatpur, Bikaner and Udaipur divisions, spending crores of money while work at capital (Jaipur) came to a stand still. Reality is people faced disappointment as nothing was achieved with the visits.”
He said while addressing newspersons at Congress Pradesh Congress Committee office.
Gehlot said the negative politics in the name of Metro and refinery is done now. In the interest of public, Metro train should immediately start and second phase (Sitapura to Ambabari) work be initiated.
He added that people want to know the reason of delay in refinery, the government should clarify. The foundation of the refinery should be laid so that more losses are prevented.
The law and order situation across the state are deteriorating. According to the figures of state crime record bureau, in last one year more than 3000 rape incidents have taken place, he said. “Political interference has increased to an extent that even if police want to conduct impartial probe, they cannot,” he added.
