IIT JEE Mains on Sunday, 65,000 aspirants from Rajasthan

More than 65,000 students would appear for the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) Mains-2017 examination at 110 centres in five districts of Rajasthan.

More than 65,000 students would appear for the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE) Mains-2017 examination at 110 centres in five districts of the state.

The exam is conducted by the Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE).

Maximum 41,800 students will take the exam at 59 centres in Jaipur. The other districts that have centres for exams are Kota (18), Udaipur (10), Jodhpur (12), and Ajmer (11).

Kota, known as the coaching capital of the country, will see 10,390 aspirants — 9,480 in the Paper I and 910 will in the Paper 2 --- appearing for the exam.

The Paper 1 for BE/BTech would be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm while Paper 2 for BArch and BPlanning will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm.

“Apart from admit card, aspirants will not have to bring anything else with them. It includes pen, pencils, mobiles, electronic gadgets,” said Pradeep Singh Gaur, CBSE coordinator in Kota for the exam.

Gaur said CBSE would provide pen to the aspirants. “A team of around 50 observers has been appointed by CBSE in Kota. Metal detectors will be placed at the examination centers to check use of any unlawful means by the aspirants,” he added.

Meanwhile, the online JEE-Mains 2016 Examination (Computer based examination) would be held on April 8 and 9. JEE Mains is the qualifying examination for the JEE Advanced 2016. Around 2 lakh successful aspirants of JEE Mains would be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2016.
