13 school children killed in raod mishap

13 school children travelling home died on spot when their bus collided with a truck near Guda Malani in Barmer district of Jaipur on Tuesday evening. About two dozen more students were injured, who were being rushed to the nearby hospitals till the report was filed.

Accident occurred post 5 pm. District Collector and other senior administrative officials were on the spot to carry out rescue operations. “Injured students are being taken to Sanchor town in neighbouring Jalore district,” Additional SP (Barmer) Shiv Raj Meena said.

According to Meena, 13 students died on spot near Raji ka Goal village, about 58 kilometers from the district headquarters. The ASP added that soon after truck had a heads-on collision with the school vehicle, a minibus, as the students were returning their home.

“Exact number of injured is not known,” he said, remaining busy in the rescue operations.
