Jaipur Metro likely to start services from March 2015

The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) officials on Monday said that Jaipur Metro phase-1A from Mansarover to Chandpole is likely to commercially run from March 2015.

The officials had assembled for the 21st directorial board meeting chaired by JMRC chairperson and managing director NC Goyal. During the meeting, it was mentioned that Jaipur Metro phase-1A from Mansarover to Chandpole is under construction, its civil work is near completion and majority of safety certification has been obtained.http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/popup/2014/12/3112rajasthan2.jpg

The Jaipur Metro recently has also obtained safety certificate from Independent Safety Assessor.

Now, the approval from chief commissioner of railway safety, Lucknow, and rolling stock from railway board is to be obtained. Thereafter, all the system will be checked by commissioner of Metro Rail Safety, Mumbai. After completing all these processes, Metro rail commercially could be started from March 2015.

The officials said the JMRC has invited tenders from e-rickshaw, four-wheelers and minivan etc required as feeder services.

JMRC director ( project) Ashwini Saxena said guide wall work is nearly complete of Metro phase-1B from Choti Chaupar to Chandpole.

In addition to this, shaft work for Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is also nearly complete.

In all probability, the first TBM will be started in May 2015. By March 2018, the Metro rail underground could be started between Chandpole and Badi Chaupar.
