A lower court in Jaipur on Saturday issued warrant of arrest against former managing director of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) Rakesh Saini in the Jal Mahal lease case on Saturday.
Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Nusrat Bano issued the arrest warrant.
Saini had lost his case in Supreme Court on April 25, 2014. On September 9, 2011 court ordered - “this is a clear cut misuse of power and officials has made conspiracy to give benefit to a jeweler Navratan Kothari and they have prepared false documents in this regard.”
After these observations court has issued arrest warrant of the top city jeweler Navratan Kothari, IAS officer Vinod Zutshi, and Rajasthan tourism department corporation MD Rakesh Saini and RAS officer Hridayesh Kumar Sharma, who are involved in this matter.
While Zutshi and Kumar got relief from the Supreme Court and their matter is pending in abeyance, Saini also approached the Supreme Court and he was also given stay on arrest warrant. However, the supreme court later vacated the stay.
Earlier, under court directions, Brahmpuri police had registered an FIR on May 3 in this matter when complainant Bhagwat Gour alleged that lease deed for the historical monument Jal Mahal was issued under objectionable circumstances and Kothari, Zutshi, Saini and Kumar Sharma have accused in the matter.
