A teenage poet from Kota has penned a poetic biography titled ‘Pranamya Pranab Da’ on the life of President Pranab Mukherjee, a copy of which he will present to Mukherjee on Friday.
17-year-old Aditya Jain has based the book tracing the life of the president from Mirati village in West Bengal’s Birbhum district, to the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
“The book illustrates the struggle of Pranab Mukherjee in rythmical verse as I was inspired with the his struggle and ability to overcome challenges in life,” said Jain, a first year of undergraduate student.
The 180-page biography contains 151 pages of verse while the rest have rare pictures of Mukherjee.
On the objective behind writing poetic biography on Mukherjee, Jain said his aim was to make people aware about the prolific personality of the president that people are not aware of and can inspire generations, particularly the youngster.
Asked about the information about Mukherjee’s life, he said that he gathered the information from media reports, reference books, and the internet.
Jain said he completed writing the book in 2013 but due to official procedures and permissions from the President’s office, he was not able to print the book until now. “The dummy copy of the book was released by Mukherjee’s daughter, Sharmishtha during her visit to Kota a couple of months back and now that the book has been published, I will hand over a coffee table book version to the President at Vigyan Bhawan on Friday,” he said.
Jain was awarded the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement in 2012 by Mukherjee for his literary and public awareness work. His mother is a teacher while his father is a social worker.
