A state-government employee, who cheated people of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of providing them jobs, was arrested on Saturday, police said.
"Dinesh Sharma, the accused, had duped several unemployed people on the pretext of getting them fourth class jobs in various state government departments," SP Jaipur (South) Jose Mohan said.
"Sharma, employed with Vidhyadhar Nagar Stadium, used to take signatures of people on blank stamp papers and kept with him. He also used to charge Rs 1-1.5 lakh and threaten them when they demanded their money back," he said.
Documents including a few blank stamp papers were recovered from Sharma's house revealed that he had recently duped three people, the SP said, adding that investigation into the matter is on.
