Man trespassing into Pakistan shot dead by BSF

A man trespassing into Pakistan was shot dead after he was challenged by BSF personnel at Gadraroad fencing in Rajasthan's Barmer district in wee hours today, a senior official said.

A man trespassing into Pakistan was shot dead after he was challenged by BSF personnel at Gadraroad fencing in Rajasthan's Barmer district in wee hours today, a senior official said.

The 30-year-old man who took advantage of darkness tried to cross into Pakistan through the barbed fencing when he was challenged and told to come back, but he did not obey, DIG-BSF N K Gujjar (Ahmedabad range) told PTI over phone.

His body was handed over to the Barmer police, he said.

No incriminating material was recovered from him and locals were questioned if they had seen the man previously, he said, adding the trespasser's identity was yet to be ascertained, he said.
