Navodaya Vidyalaya teacher beats up two students for ‘dirty room’

Two students were allegedly beaten up by a teacher of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (school) in Dholpur district after he found their hostel room dirty on Sunday

Two students were allegedly beaten up by a teacher of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (school) in Dholpur district after he found their hostel room dirty on Sunday.

The students of Class 9 and 10 stay in the school hostel.

According to information, when the school teacher, TC Gautam, visited the hostel in the morning, he found the room of two boys dirty. He immediately summoned the students, who were in the playground. No sooner did the students reach the hostel room, Gautam allegedly started beating them up with a stick.

The incident came to light when parents of other students came to meet them in the school on the occasion of Karva Chauth on Sunday. They saw the two students crying and informed their parents. The victims’ parents then approached the school principal, KS Baghel. They handed over a written complaint to the principal seeking legal action against Gautam.

Baghel said the victims were rushed to the district hospital for a medical examination on Monday. A show cause notice was issued to the teacher and a committee was formed to investigate the matter. The matter has also been forwarded to the senior authority, he added.

The school has 12 halls accommodating 542 students.
