An NRI woman has been arrested in connection with a dowry case and sent to two days of police custody, police said in Jaipur on Saturday.
The woman, Aarti, was arrested on Friday from IGI airport in New Delhi after she landed from California.
Aarti's daughter-in-law Neha Paliwal had lodged an FIR against her and her son Chanakya last year, they said.
She was taken to Jaipur and produced before a local court which remanded her to two days of police custody.
In the FIR lodged in January 2009, Paliwal had alleged that her husband and his mother demanded Rs 10 lakh as dowry soon after the marriage, police said.
When her parents were unable to fulfil their demands, both of them left for California after a few days leaving Neha with her parents, saying that they would take her only after their demands were met.
