Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate on Saturday directed the Jaipur police to register a case against former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and four others in connection with the controversial Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay trust land scam.
The court directed the Gandhi Nagar police to register a case against Raje, former Mayor Ashok Parnami, MLA Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi, former minister Pratap Singh Singhvi and the then Commissioner of Jaipur Development Authority Ajay Pal Singh, when the matter came before it on the application of the complainant Shriprakash Kukkar.
Kukkar has asked for reinvestigation of the matter and the seizure of the bank accounts of the alleged trust under section 159 of the Code of Criminal procedure.
Earlier the special public prosecutor, appointed during Raje regime, in his written reply to the court said that no case could be made out against the former chief minister and four others.
When the matter was highlighted by media the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot immediately changed the Special Public prosecutor who, on Saturday, pleaded that whatever directions will be passed by the court in the matter shall be carried out in toto.
The trust got the land in prime C scheme in the heart of the city at throw away prices. The trust was alloted the land at a mere Rs 562.5 per square metre even as the market rate was about Rs one lakh per square metre.
