After direction from the Supreme Court, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) election results will be announced at the RCA Cricket Academy on Tuesday.
Dholpur’s Sumendra Tiwari, who has been contesting for the post of secretary in the RCA, said that all candidates fighting the elections are expected to be present at the time of announcement of results. Among them will be Mahmood Abdi, who has been contesting for the post of deputy president in the state cricket association.
Tiwari, who comes from Lalit Modi faction, said that their group would “surely” win the elections, as the announcement of results was just a formality. “Lalit Modi and his entire 21-member team will come to power,” he said.
It may be mentioned here that the RCA elections were conducted on December 19 last year under the supervision of retired Supreme Court judge NM Kasliwal, who was assisted by retired judge SP Pathak. Retired judge BL Gupta was the election officer. SC has directed NM Kasliwal to announce the result on May 6.
Former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi was the RCA president from 2005 to 2009.
