An 18-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide in Dausa district after he was not allowed to take the state board examination that started on Thursday, police said.

Rakesh Meena, a Class 12 student, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his rented accommodation by his landlord this morning, the SHO at Kotwali Police Station, Sanjay Godara, said.

“It is suspected that the boy committed suicide after he was not allowed to take the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education exam. The reason behind him being denied the admit card is yet to be ascertained,” he said.

A case under Section 174 (unnatural death) has been registered, the SHO added.
