Villagers thrashed two youths mercilessly after they spotted them with a kidnapped minor girl on Tuesday morning, witnesses said.

The duo have been admitted with broken limbs to the district hospital.

Police said a man reported to the Madhogarh police station about three youths who kidnapped his 14-year-old daughter around 10 pm on Monday night.

He also informed villagers who went out in different directions to look for the missing girl.

In the wee hours on Tuesday, they heard the girl’s cries for help in Natani Ka Bara area near Ruparail river and caught hold of Khalid and Sairoor.

After the girl told them that she had been gang-raped, angry villagers began thrashing the two youths, police added.

Alwar’s superintendent of police Kailash Chand Bishnoi said the girl’s medical examination had been conducted and a search operation of the third accused, who managed to escape, was on.

Police have also lodged a case of assault against some villagers, too.

The youths are residents of Palakhadi village, police said. They were getting treated for their injuries at Alwar’s government hospital.
