Resident doctors on Monday called off their six-day long strike after the main accused Kana Ram, who had allegedly beaten up two residents at Sawai Man Singh government hospital in February, was suspended by his college administration.
"The strike has been called off and the residents are resuming their duties. The accused Kana Ram is absconding and out of the grip of police, so his college administration suspended him following which the resident doctors called off the stike," SMS medical college Principal Dr Subhas Nepalia said.
"We have suspended Kana Ram Jaat, a BA-III year student, on charge of beating two resident doctors," Rajasthan College Principal Firoj Ahemad said.
Jaat, who is also the President of Rajasthan College students' union, along with his few friends, had allegedly beaten up two resident doctors on duty at the SMS hospital on February 28.
Police have arrested the two accused while Kanaram is absconding after the incident.
