The Sikar police have found a CCTV camera footage on Tuesday in which the man, accused of raping a five-year-old girl, is seen taking the victim to a secluded place and then leaving her near a garbage-filled place.

The police recovered the footage from a CCTV camera installed at a private building and showed it to shopkeepers, garbage collectors and others to identify the accused.

The police have announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for identifying the person in the footage.

The girl was abducted and raped while she was sleeping with her family on a pavement on the intervening night of September 10 and 11.

The footage shows the accused taking the victim to a secluded place at 1:12 am. At 5:51 am, the accused returns with the victim, drops her near a garbage heap, urinates in front of her and leaves the place after gesturing something to her. The victim is seen squatting without movement.

It was from this place that the victim was found, said Sikar Superintendent of Police, Akhilesh Kumar, adding that searches at hotels and inns were also conducted.

With recovery of the footage, two persons detained on suspicion are likely to get relief. They were named by the victim’s family and the police have detained since the incident. The police have collected their blood samples and are likely to conduct DNA tests, said Kumar.

Kumar said the accused seemed addicted to drugs from the footage. He said there is probability that he drugged the victim with some inhaler or sedative to stop her from raising alarm. The officer said there were about ten people sleeping on the same pavement at that time and efforts are on to question them.
