Indresh Kumar, member of All India Executive of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), said if his role was suspected in the Ajmer dagarh blast then why he was not made an accused in the chargesheet filed by the Rajasthan Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS). The ATS has in 800 plus page chargesheet, filed at a court in Ajmer on Friday, named Indresh as being the pivotal figure in coordinating the blasts at Ajmer dargah and Mecca mosque in Hyderabad.
The chargesheet mentions that Indresh addressed a meeting of RSS activists on October 31, 2005 in a hotel at MI Road in Jaipur where blasts strategy was discussed. Indresh, however, denies the charges stating that ATS and CBI are functioning under pressure of Congress government.
“Why was I not made an accused in the case when the ATS mentions my role in the case? This hints towards a political conspiracy backed by the Congress government. After Malegaon blast the ATS had said that there was conspiracy to kill me and now ATS in Rajasthan is naming me in blast case. The ATS of states are giving contradictory statements which shows they are working under pressure of the Congress-led UPA” said Indresh while talking to Hindustan Times. “I will go to the court if called for witness” he added.
About addressing RSS activists as mentioned in the chargesheet, Indresh said the ATS has “fabricated the matter on direction of Congress government”. Indresh has been in-charge of RSS in Rajasthan from 2001 to 2005.
has also been coordinating the work of the Rashtriya Muslim Manch, an RSS affiliate that calls itself a “nationalist organisation” of Muslims.
