The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a 'Jhaadu Chalaao' rally in the city on Sunday, with a view to mobilizing the people against corruption and corrupt leaders.
The party activists said that for the past 65 years, political parties have only ruined the people rather than developing the country and now, it is the time that the people should come forward against corrupt leaders and should get the country out of their clutches.
They claimed that AAP is not just a political party but a revolution and urged the people to join hands with the party for the better future of the country.
They said the rally would also boost the morale of AAP's grassroots workers, who are the backbone of the party working towards the empowerment of the common man.
They said while girls and women are not safe in the country and boys are lured into drug racket being run under the patronage of political leaders.
They alleged that the SAD-BJP government is doing nothing to stop the smuggling of narcotics in the state and leaders of all political parties are working for their vested interests. Politicians have befooled the people always as they make promises ahead of the elections and
forget them thereafter.
They said that Arvind Kejriwal had taken the right step by resigning as the Chief Minister of Delhi since the Congress and the BJP do not want a corruption free system in the country.
AAP leaders who participated in the rally included Joginder Singh, Kamaldeep Singh, Himanshu Pathak, Kuldeep Kaur and Tarandeep Singh. Party representatives from 60 wards of the city participated in the programme.
They said the 'Jhadu Chalaao, Beimaan Bhagao' campaign would run for a period of nine days in the city.
