Parents of Vishav, 15, who died on July 8 allegedly due to negligence of a private hospital staff, today asked police to book the doctors responsible for the death.
Addressing media persons here today, Rajinder Kumar Mahindru, the father rued that police had taken no action so far against the erring doctors of the hospital on the pretext of need of post-mortem report.
“Let the report come in a timed phase, at-least listen to us and the plight faced by me and my family members during the treatment in the hospital. We were kept about the treatment in dark by the doctors. They keep on telling us that the boy was improving,” said Mahindru.
Vishav, a resident of lamba pind chowk, was admitted in the hospital on July 1 with problem of pain in stomach and the doctors performed appendicitis operation on same day, claimed Mahindru alleging that, “since then, the boy was lying in unconscious conditions in the hospital.”
“When the situations turned out of control for them and the condition of my son deteriorated, we took him to DMC hospital at Ludhiana where we were told that due to delay, lever was damaged and needed immediate transplant,” he added.
“To make arrangements for the operation, I immediately sold my house but it could not help to save my child who died before I reach there,” he added further.
“We demand justice. It is very painful for us to see that culprits are wandering free in society. We urge police to take action of negligence against the hospital staff and ensure early receipt of viscera report,” mother Pooja Rani said.
Both parents were present in the press conference along with their younger son Abhishek.
