To check quality of food being served as mid-day meal to students, two teams of the health department conducted raids in different schools of the district on Thursday.

“We have procured samples of raw material from 16 places, including prepared food from four places and water from three places,” civil surgeon RL Bassan said.

“Various shortcomings were observed at some places and we have advised the staff wherever needed,” he said adding: “We have formed different teams to continue with the raids on a regular basis to ensure supply of quality food in mid-day meal scheme.”

The raids were conducted at schools in Bhargo Camp, Kot Sadiq, Dhaliwal, Gakhal, Kamla Nehru Garden and Ladowali Road.
