Punjab deputy chief minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday claimed that once BJP's prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi becomes the PM, development projects would rain in Punjab.
Addressing an election meeting in favour of SAD candidate Pawan Kumar Tinu here, Sukhbir said that the nation was all set to bid a "final good bye" to the Congress and the coming Lok Sabha elections would be its last election.
He criticised the UPA government for rising inflation, various scams that were unearthed during its ten-year regime, economic slowdown and growing unemployment. Observing that Modi as PM would be very beneficial for the interests of Punjab, he said, "Neither Mr Narendra Modi nor any other minister will say no to Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. So for an all-round development of the state, help NDA form government".
Others who addressed the meeting included district SAD president and cabinet minister Ajit Singh Kohar, Pawan Tinu and Nakodar MLA G S Wadala.
