'Ladowali', literally means affectionate. But the road having this name is left in the lurch due to neglect of municipal corporation (MC).

The road is full of potholes and water remain logged on it, especially from Alaska Chowk to BSF Chowk. Due to the inundated condition of this road, the shops situated on this road had been suffering loss in their business.

People residing around this road also suffer from problems such as of dust entering in their houses due to heavy traffic plying.

The road links railway road to main GT road and at several places before the railway crossing, the condition is worst. Though the MC had fitted interlocked tiles at many places but still the vehicles have to pass very carefully on Ladowali road, which witness heavy flow of traffic all the day as district administrative complex, several industries and reputed business groups are situated on the road.

"Loaded vehicles, sometimes, got stuck while passing through the deep potholes and people often have to push the vehicles to solve their miseries,"said Harsh Singla, a local shopkeeper.

"In just one kilometre of stretch of this road, there could be over 150 potholes. The manholes are also deeper than the road level and gives jerks to commuters,"said Vinaypal, a local.

"For the past many years we have seeing this road in inundated condition. Near Alaska chowk the interlocked tiles have been paved but the work had been stopped abruotly,"said Rajesh, a local.

Authority Speaks
Additional Commissioner (buildings & roads) Kulvinder Singh
We have got passed the tender of `77.34 lakh for contsructing the road. Work will start soon."

Voicing concern
Vehicles get stuck in potholes. During monsoon this road turns into a small pool and nursery of mosquitoes. MC should act fast.
Vipan Kumar, shopkeeper

MC people had done patchwork on this road several times but it did not last for long. Placing interlocking tiles was started but it had been stopped.
Joginder Pal, shopkeeper

I lost balance on my bike twice while travelling on this road. It is very dangerous for two wheelers. The manholes are very deep which cause sudden jerks and shocks to drivers
