In a letter to the new union minister of state (independent charge) information and broadcasting Prakash Javadekar, union minister of state in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh has urged him to review the decision to discontinue 'Yuva Vani', All India Radio service. He has urged him to restore the service.
Singh said that Yuva Vani service was started by the All India Radio in Jammu in 1973 and over the years, it became popular among the radio listeners in general and youth in particular.
In his letter, Singh pointed out that large number of youth got opportunity to exhibit their talent through the programmes.
Singh also spoke to Javadekar on Wednesday about the issue on sidelines of the Parliament session and Javadekar assured him that he would immediately look into the matter.
