The BJP has dismissed the allegations of People's Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti that the party has dropped Vajpayee's policy on Jammu and Kashmir. It said that it's in line with the policy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif for his swearing-in ceremony.

BJP state unit spokesperson Lalit Moza said Prime Minster Modi started his tenure by inviting Pakistan prime minister to start with a clean slate and free the Indo-Pak ties from the baggage of history.

"It is Pakistan which brought bitterness in the mutual relations by persisting with holding meetings with the Hurriyat leaders in spite of being advised against it," he said.

He said holding foreign secretary-level talks in such circumstances would have given an impression of weak and irresolute government in India and given wrong message to fundamentalists and extremists elements in Pakistan.

The BJP leader said peace talks cannot coexist with training camps of terrorists, ceasefire violations on the border, facilitating the launch of terrorists into country and targeting the innocent border civilians.

Moza advised Mehbooba Mufti not to indulge in politics which is not based on realistic appreciation of the situation.

"'Being an MP, Mehbooba Mufti should expose the duplicity and double talks of Pak leadership and its military," he said.
