A senior Congress leader on Thursday accused Pakistan army of "fully backing and guiding" Rangers in firing on civilian areas in the Indian side of the border and warned that such incidents would not be tolerated.
"Pakistan army is supporting the Rangers in the firing on civilians areas on this side. They are using heavy weapons to target the villagers along IB," Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad told reporters after a visit to forward areas along IB in R S Pura.
Azad, who also met the border migrants said, "Pakistan Rangers, who fire on civilian areas, are fully backed and guided by Pakistan army resulting in large number of ceasefire violations over a very short span of time.
"On this, Pakistan government and Pakistan troops are not doing good and I feel sorry the way they are targeting civilian villages particularly disrupting the farming activities, activities of nomads and daily labourers", he said.
