Happy about BJP defeat, says Shiv Sena chief Uddhav

On a day when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was looking for some sympathy from its allies for its debacle in Karnataka, the Shiv Sena has gone ahead and sprinkled salt on its wounds.

Shiv Sena party president Uddhav Thackeray snubbed BJP, expressing happiness over its defeat in Karnataka. “The BJP did not do justice with the people of Belgaum and did not support them in their struggles. I am pleased with the outcome where BJP has lost in Karnataka because of this reason,” he told mediapersons in Mumbai.

He added that two women mayors from the area were badly treated but the BJP-led government did nothing to support them. He added that he did not want to comment about any other shortcomings of the BJP in Karnataka. “My involvement is only restricted to the Belgaum issue. In case the Congress treats them in an unfair way, they too will be shown the door,” Thackeray added.
