Air India is gearing up to start operating the fuel-efficient, twin-engine jet liner, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, between Kolkata and Delhi soon. The Dreamliner is slated touch down in Kolkata on September 26. The flight will take off from Kolkata at 5.00 pm. The flight from Delhi will reach at 3.55 pm after taking off at 1.45pm.

The Dreamliner VT-ANH was handed over to Air India at Charleston, US, one of the only two factories where the plane is assembled. It touched down at Delhi’s IGI Airport on September 8. Nine days later the second B787 Dreamliner VT-AND also arrived in Delhi. These are the two of the six Dreamliners scheduled for delivery this year, of a total of 27 to be inducted into the AI fleet.

“A technologically advanced inflight Entertainment System will offer unlimited audio, video games and communicative options on large LCD screen. Powered by the Genex engines the Dreamliners are the quietest and most environmentfriendly airplanes,” said an Air India spokesperson.
