Bengal: Prime suspect in Ranaghat nun gangrape case arrested
Nazrul Islam, or 'Noju' , one of the prime accused in the gang-rape of a 71-year old nun at convent in Ranghat of Nadia district, was caught by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the West Bengal police on Wednesday evening.

A CID source stated that Noju was arrested on platform 5 of the Sealdah Railway station after they were 'tipped off' by one of their sources. His detention marks the sixth arrest in connection with the gang-rape.
Two more men, Bombay Selim and Tuhin, are still at large and wanted in connection with the case.
CID sources said that though Islam had denied any involvement in the gang-rape, the other five perpetrators had already confessed to his involvement.
According to CID sources, Noju and Milan Sarkar were the two masterminds behind the gangrape of the nun.
The two men allegedly scouted out the convent, before orchestrating a robbery, during which the nun was sexually assaulted.
The victim, who is currently recuperating in New Delhi, was recently visited by CID officials, who were looking for her statement.
The CID is expected to file the chrage-sheet later thsi month.
