Can Kolkata ever become the City of Joy? A city without political rallies, hawker-free roads, no water logging or problems of parking, walls without graffiti, no dilapidated buildings and clean roads?

Magician PC Sorcar (junior) promises to deliver the goods for the well being of the city — but for a mere 12 minutes.

He plans to introduce a special item in all his shows that would help create an illusion in the minds of the spectators about a Kolkata free of its vices. The rest would be his usual basket of tricks.

Sorcar, who has given serious thoughts to all the problems faced by Kolkatans, has conjured a genie that could help the residents of Kolkata get rid of their daily ordeals.

"Think of one of those rallies choking the city streets as it proceeds at a snail's pace. Imagine a gigantic hand swooping down from the sky and sweeping it away," he said.

"House owners would no longer have to lament about the graffiti on their walls. The genie would appear in a trice with a magic brush in hand and restore the walls," he said.

The gigantic hands would clear choked drains and manholes of the city keeping Kolkata free from water logging even during the days when the Met office records the heaviest rainfall. The genie would even solve the hawker-menace that the state government and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation have failed to tackle.

For this 3D creation and virtual reality show the magician would use a combination of smoke and projectors. The genie (two black hands) would be formed with the help of laser beams.

"We have also roped in eminent singers for the back ground music and special effects. A song has already been composed for this show," Sorcar signed off.
